Job Description

  • assessing patients and interpreting clinical requirements to determine appropriate     radiographic techniques; 
  • performing a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce high-         quality images; 
  • observing and maintaining contact with patients during their waiting, examination and post-examination stay in the department; 
  • assisting in more complex radiological examinations under the supervision of a radiologist and senior staff; 
  • working effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that an efficient service is provided to patients, for example by sharing specialist knowledge and expertise; 
  • using initiative to prioritize, deliver and time-manage workload effectively and, when appropriate, assisting senior staff to plan efficient control of work flow patterns within the department; 
  • communicating with patients and others in a clear, respectful and appropriate way; 
  • positioning patients safely for examinations and, if necessary, adapting standard techniques depending on medical conditions associated with disability, illness or trauma; 
  • dealing confidently with difficult situations; 
  • recording imaging identification and patient documentation quickly and accurately and observing protocols to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act and patient confidentiality; 
  • learning new techniques and technologies as required by professional bodies and participating in annual performance appraisal programmes; 
  • supervising assistant practitioners,  and other staff, and delivering appropriate training; 
  • performing necessary administrative tasks, when required; 
  • understanding and observing health and safety at work and welfare issues, including ionizing radiation regulations, to protect yourself and others; 
  • undertaking quality control checks on X-rays and associated equipment, and contributing to quality assurance and audit initiatives; 
  • Ensuring that equipment is regularly checked for malfunctions and any faults are reported to Biomedical and HOD. 
  • reporting incidents of injury to yourself or others according to departmental procedures; 
  •    Maintaining high levels of cleanliness and tidiness within the department.
  •    Assist Radiologist in procedures and helping with reporting
  •    Managing PACS and HMS as the need may be
  •    Maintaining TAT register and department indicators.
  •    Arranging the forms for radiologists for reporting
  •    Arranging for emergency procedures
  •    Ensuring JCIA compliance among Radiographers.
  •    Timely delivery of images and form to Doctors for reporting. 
  •    To perform and follow quality assurance programs for various RADIOLOGY sub- departments.
  • To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties. 

Requirements

    • Minimum 2-years experience as a receptionist in a patient focused environment.
    • Proficient technology application skills; Basic MS Office (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) MS Outlook & Internet explorer skills.
    • Must have an exceptional interpersonal skill, maturity, good judgment and be capable of communicating in a professional manner with diverse range of individuals, superior telephone etiquette 
    • Patient focused; service oriented; patient & understanding.
    • Efficient organizational skills; ability to handle multiple responsibilities under pressure while maintaining composure
    1. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    2. Reliable, punctual, dependable, and responsive.
    3. Excellent command of oral and written English. Arabic language advantageous/desirable but not essential.
