Job Description
A Radiology Nurse works as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, specialists, fellow nurses, and radiology technicians. The role is primarily responsible for the assessment, planning, and delivery of care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic radiology procedures. The Radiology Nurse ensures patient safety, comfort, and education throughout the process while supporting the clinical team in achieving high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients prior to their procedures by reviewing medical histories and consulting with both patients and physicians.
- Help patients better understand required procedures and act as a liaison between patient and physician.
- Explain procedures by answering questions and addressing concerns of patients and their families.
- Instruct patients on pre-procedure requirements.
- Prepare patients on the day of the procedure.
- Administer special dyes/contrast mediums to patients.
- Operate radiology machines and prepare them for use by physicians.
- Reassess patients post-procedure and provide care until discharge readiness.
- Maintain confidentiality of all organizational, patient, client, and employee information in accordance with policies and laws.
Qualifications
- UAE Medical Health Authority License (DHA).
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or Degree in Nursing (minimum two years course duration) And Registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia.
- Has worked in hospital or similar setting for at least 2 years
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with the ability to manage digital documentation and communication effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and stakeholders.
