Summary:
We are seeking a creative and dedicated Secondary Performing Arts Teacher to join our school and teach the MYP (Middle Years Programme) curriculum. The successful candidate will also be responsible for leading music and drama extracurricular activities, including running school musicals and nurturing students’ creativity and skills in the performing arts.

Job Responsibility:
– Instruct students in the MYP curriculum for performing arts
– Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with MYP guidelines
– Lead and supervise music and drama extracurricular activities (ECA)
– Organize and oversee school musicals, including auditions, rehearsals, and performances
– Provide mentorship and guidance to students interested in pursuing the performing arts beyond the classroom
– Collaborate with colleagues to integrate performing arts into the overall MYP curriculum
– Evaluate student performance and progress, and provide constructive feedback
– Stay informed about best practices and advancements in performing arts education

Candidate Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts, Music, Drama, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus
– Teaching certification or license
– Experience teaching the MYP curriculum in performing arts
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to inspire and motivate students to excel in the performing arts
– Organizational skills to manage school musicals and extracurricular activities effectively
– Creativity and passion for fostering student growth in the performing arts
– Familiarity with various theatrical techniques, musical styles, and MYP requirements
– Proficiency in utilizing technology tools and software for teaching and assessing performing arts students
