Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, develop, and execute strategies including marketing, merchandising, influencers, warehouse, operations, and finance to drive organizational goals.
  • Build a strong assortment catering to all needs of the platform’s users and business purposes.
  • Monitor and evaluate product performance, adjusting orders as necessary to meet consumer demands.
  • Maintain minimum stock outs with visibility of next availability and alternative options.
  • Support maintaining healthy finances with timely closing of receivables and payables.
  • Generate reports on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis, including sales, stock levels, offers, and promotions.
  • Close offers on exclusive lines, special product selections, brand offers, and season-relevant promotions.
  • Identify trends and maximize opportunities with addition and removal of assortment in the warehouse while minimizing liabilities with rightful purchasing or supported products clearance.
  • Onboard new brands seamlessly, negotiate favorable credit terms, and go live on-site in a timely fashion.
  • Monitor competition for price competence and range parity; evaluate industry trends and competition assortment.
  • Monitor brand performance, initiating corrective action where necessary to ensure operations are conducted within agreed financial parameters.
  • Learn from and lead team members towards ethical practices, coaching and inspiring junior members of the team.
  • Maintain healthy relationships with internal and external stakeholders through good communication, supporting business growth and goal achievement professionally.
  • Follow and maintain supply flow from partners, meeting business objectives.
  • Support Joint business plan deals from planning to achieving targets and collecting rewards.
  • Source product samples for internal reviews, influencer campaign collaborations, and giveaways via different channels.
  • Ensure bestsellers are ordered in time and always maintained in stock.
  • Review content with a 360 view and ensure availability of all relevant assets including product or brand.
  • Handle customer queries and complaints by supporting decision-making, providing product use suggestions, and facilitating defect corrections with support from distributor/brand.
  • Close deals based on historical trends and price considerations, keeping in mind business objectives to meet healthy margins while achieving sales targets.
  • Achieve targets for revenue, margins, and inventory management.
  • Monitor on-site view and suggest improvements to support revenue generation and enhance customer experience.
  • Support suppliers with queries and ad-hoc tasks, always keeping the best interest of both organizations in mind.
  • Identify and suggest new enhancements for internal systems, on-site experience, and product developments.
  • Support selection and ordering of Home brand range, working towards meeting organizational goals.
  • Attend and participate in market collaborations/events to improve network and meet business goals.
  • Maintain high ethical standards, keeping in best interest of personal image, company image, and its partners.
  • Engage in out-of-the-box thinking to capture hidden liabilities, helping to avoid incorrect purchases and optimize assortment.
  • Review and ensure all relevant on-site events, offers, and launches run correctly and smoothly, in line with strategic plans and marketing calendar.

Requirements

  • Experience in Retail Buying or Merchandising
  • X years experience in E-commerce retail
  • Technical savvy and business savvy
  • MS Office and computer literacy; organizational skills
  • Negotiation, influencing, understanding of pricing basics and logic
  • Attention to detail, trend analysis, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Teamwork, leadership, quick learner, good teacher, integrity
  • Product development experience
  • Bachelor’s degree minimum
  • English and Hindi literacy; additional language is an advantage
  • Communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Curious mind and passion for the retail business
  • Open to feedback and suggestions; ability to multitask; adaptable
  • Partner and stakeholder managing skills; not afraid to be fiercely original
