Senior Manager – Finance (Factory)

Role Summary:
The Senior Manager – Finance (Factory) is responsible for managing end-to-end finance operations at the factory level, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and operational finance support to manufacturing operations. The role is hands-on and execution-focused, acting as the key finance partner to Factory Operations while ensuring alignment with GMG’s Group finance policies, controls, and standards. The role covers core operational finance pillars, with a strong emphasis on compliance, efficiency, and cost discipline within a manufacturing environment.

Key Success Drivers including Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

1. Financial Control & Compliance

Ensure strict adherence to GMG Group finance policies, internal controls, and governance frameworks at the factory level

Maintain strong financial discipline across all manufacturing transactions, including inventory, procurement, and production costing

Lead and support internal and external audits, ensuring timely closure of audit findings and zero compliance gaps

Safeguard company assets through effective control mechanisms and regular reconciliations

2. Factory Financial Operations & Reporting

Oversee end-to-end factory finance operations, including month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations

Ensure timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting aligned with Group timelines and standards

Monitor key financial metrics (cost per unit, yield, wastage, variances) and highlight risks and opportunities

Drive transparency and accuracy in inventory accounting and valuation

3. Cost Management & Efficiency

Partner with factory operations to drive cost optimization initiatives across materials, labor, and overheads

Analyze production costs, variances, and inefficiencies, providing actionable insights to improve margins

Track and control factory budgets, ensuring alignment with approved financial plans

Lead initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste within the manufacturing process

4. Business Partnering with Factory Operations

People Management:

• Lead and develop the factory finance team.

• Allocate work, review outputs, and ensure high-quality deliverables.

• Build strong finance capability within the factory through coaching and on-the-job development.

• Promote a culture of accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement.

Functional/Technical Competencies:
Strong manufacturing finance knowledge (costing, BOM, variances, inventory)

Financial reporting & month-end close expertise

Cost control, margin analysis, and budgeting/forecasting

Internal controls, compliance, and audit management

ERP systems and advanced Excel skills

Data analysis and business partnering for decision support

Working capital and inventory management

Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.

• Master’s degree is an advantage.

Experience:
• 8–12 years of progressive experience in finance roles, with significant exposure to manufacturing or factory environments.

• Proven experience managing factory-level finance operations.

• Experience working in large, structured organizations with strong governance frameworks.
