Job Description

  • Prepare the regular market and industry outlook analysis reports, monitor industry pricing, production plant operations and margin developments across regions
  • Maintain structural integrity and accuracy of Market Intelligence databases (MI Database), upload with latest updates from relevant sources, and ensure availability for planning purposes, i.e. pricing reference & business planning
  • Assist Market Intelligence Manager to participate in market updates discussions at price setting meetings and presentation / sharing sessions to various teams
  • Provide trainings on usage access to various Market Intelligence tools, databases, procedures and information sources
  • Coordinate and control subscription requests / renewals with various stakeholders in accordance to procedures, and maintain updated registry on reports procured
  • Maintain electronic Market Intelligence library for knowledge management and ensure that sharing of online intelligence is compliant with all licensing agreements
  • Gather & validate market intelligence through active interactions & collaborations with various levels of Sales & Marketing, Business Controlling and Pricing functions
  • Assist Market Intelligence in organizing projects and take lead in projects from time to time
  • Monitor and track competitor landscape analysing major competitors’ strategies to support strategic direction of Borouge
  • Support company strategy development and updates with accurate and up-to-date market intelligence information and insights

Business Plan General Guidelines & Assumptions

  • Source, collate and validate forecast data (MI Database) on macro-economic indicators, polyolefin-related supply / demand balance for business planning /strategic activities
  • Prepare and provide competitor positioning, validate market size and market share information
  • Support the Market Intelligence Manager to prepare the analysis and writing of outlook in the Guidelines and Assumptions document and presentation support pack

Minimum Qualifications

  • University degree or higher in Economics, Business, Engineering, or related discipline

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Business or marketing experience
  • Good insights of petrochemical market dynamics and economics
  • Understanding on markets, competitors, value chain and macro-economic analysis
  • Minimum 2 – 5 years of related work experience in data analysis, report writing, business consulting and database management
  • Strong business writing skills
  • Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and understanding of Chinese will be of added advantage
