Senior Vice President – Design Standarization

Job Description

Job Purpose

•Implement quality assurance processes to review and approve design deliverables, ensuring they meet all project requirements and standards.

•Monitor program and targets set up for each project and periodically report on status and risks.

Roles & Responsibilities

•Update design standards, standardization objectives and specifications, communicate changes to the development team and provide feedback on proposed improvements.

•Provide a systematic quality assurance strategy applied to all projects and coordinate its implementation.

•Ensure that adequate level of support is provided to project teams during design and through design reviews.

•Ensure possible value engineering ideas are identified to cut costs/time and provide recommendations to project teams.

•Carry out weekly and monthly reporting of progress and issues to the line manager.

•Coordinate the review and integration of design work from various disciplines, ensuring a cohesive and comprehensive design approach.

•Ensure the integration of design activities with overall project timelines and construction schedules, addressing any conflicts or issues that arise.

•Provide leadership and guidance to internal project teams regarding the design aspect of the project.

•Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the development of professional skills within the team.

•Oversee, review and approve the Project Implementation Plan for each project.

•Manage and approve all proposed value engineering options.

•Oversee the management design progress against the programme.

•Knowledge of AI technologies to produce in-house pre-concept designs.

•Extend AI technologies and preliminary concepts into procurement strategies and preliminary cost analysis.

•Full proficiency on modelling and AI technologies including:

•SketchUp, Rhinoceros, 3DSMax, V-Ray

•Midjourney, Dalle, Stable Diffusion, Luma AI, Lumion, Enscape, CostX

Qualifications & Experience

Min of 12+ years of experience in design process for developments with CAPEX 4+ billion AED

Years in Management

Min of: 4+ years in a managerial position.

Sector Experience

Retail estate sector, construction.

Technical & Interpersonal Skills

•Deep exposure to GCC region and adjacent markets preferred

•Demonstrated track record in real estate developments

•Excellent design & master-planning capabilities

•Strong conflict resolution/management skills

•Strong team player with ability to balance conflicting priorities and take timely decisions

•Excellent analytical skills

•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required to present master plans to senior leaders for approval.

•Experienced in working with and leading multi-disciplinary teams that include members from Business Planning, Master Planning, Design, Project Management, Procurement and Commercial functions.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in architecture or engineering. A Masters Degree is preferable.
