Job Description

  • Performs the professional duties of an endocrinologist in accordance with the delineation of privileges as recommended and approved by the Credentials Committee.
  • Performs duties in the Endocrinology department, evaluating patients with hormonal diseases.
  • Provides after working hours on call emergency coverage for endocrinology emergencies. 
  • Performs endocrinal procedures – dynamic hormonal test in appropriate patient.
  • To provide consultation/referral services to the inpatient services in his area of expertise. 
  • To work with the patients throughout the entire process starting from consultation to treatment plan. 
  • Provides supervision and education to the staff nurses, patients and technicians.
  • Participates and contributes to all the quality assurance activities of the services (e.g. monthly mortality and morbidity conference, peer review, audit and chart review)
  • Oversees and monitors and participates in QA programs as requested by the Quality Office.
  • Prepares and submits to the Medical Administrator for approval the daily work schedule, weekend schedules, ER on-call schedule after working hours, personal leaves and vacation.
  • To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of approved Medical School; plus 1 year Rotating Internship with certification or equivalent; 
  • 3 years residency of Internal Medicine Residency.
  • 3 years Residency training in recognized residency in Endocrinology.
  • Current licensure in country of origin with Specialist Endocrinologist, and with DHA license to practice in Dubai, UAE.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of practice in the field of Endocrinology (Hormonal Diseases).
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of medical ethics, with particular reference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of his work; personality which inspires confidence and trust in his patients; and adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Organization.
  • Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients & families.
