Job Description

We are currently looking for a Locum – Specialist Pediatric for our hospital in Dubai Hills. Candidate must have a DHA license/Eligibility and can join immediately.

Position Overview:

  • To provide comprehensive service and support to the paediatric consultants in providing in-patient care for paediatric/neonatal patients in King’s College Hospital-Dubai.
  • The post-holder will:
  • Be responsible for coordinating the day to day care and medical management of paediatric in-patients at King’s College Hospital -Dubai.
  • Manage a caseload which includes a wide range of medical health conditions within King’s College Hospital-Dubai facilities. This will include inpatient and day case treatments, and out-patient work.
  • Ensure the highest standards of care for all patients.
  • To adhere to the manifesto of care expected of all physician at King’s College Hospital-Dubai.

Clinical

  • Investigate and manage patients attending and admitted to King’s College Hospital-Dubai, under the supervision of the consultant paediatrician, across a range of medical specialties.
  • Diagnose and treat patients according to established standards of best practice.
  • Review the results of all investigations in a timely fashion and modify treatment as required.
  • Liaise with senior clinicians with regard to decision making for in-patient care including carrying out care plans.
  • Conduct daily ward rounds of paediatric in-patients with the consultant.
  • Review patients on a regular basis in accordance with the plan of care made on the ward round.
  • Perform clinical duties under the supervision of the admitting consultant and maintain regular communication with regard to patient management decisions.
  • Take hand over of patients from previous shift specialist in order to ensure continuity of care
  • Assist with interventional procedures appropriate to the paediatric specialties and assist in the coordination of post treatment care on the wards.
  • Ensure protocols are followed with regard to obtaining appropriate consent for interventional procedures.
  • Respond to requests by the nursing team and medical colleagues to review the medical condition of patients on the ward.

Education and Qualification:

  • MD or MBBS/MBChB
  • Dubai Health Authority Licence
  • MRCPH
  • Completion of internship or similar & 2 years post-graduation experience
  • Current basic life support accreditation
