The Specialist in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is dedicated to providing expert medical care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents. This role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care, conducting thorough assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, and offering support and education to nursing staff and families.
Responsibilities
- Conduct expert clinical assessments for critically ill pediatric patients.
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
- Utilize advanced monitoring techniques for patient evaluation.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate optimal patient care.
- Lead daily rounds and facilitate discussions on patient progress.
- Communicate effectively with families about their child’s condition and care.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
Qualifications
- Education: MBBS and Board certification in Pediatric or Pediatric Critical Care MedicineÂ
- License:Â Valid UAE license or eligibility.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of post-fellowship experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Medicine.
- Proven experience in managing a wide range of critically ill pediatric patients, including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, and multi-organ dysfunction.
- Hands-on experience with essential procedures such as intubation, central line placement, and other invasive techniques commonly performed in the PICU
