Job Description

Royal Health Group is seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide comprehensive speech, language, communication, and swallowing services across our facilities in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi. The SLP will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages with a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders, contributing to their improved quality of life. This role requires a commitment to patient-centered care, a collaborative approach, and the ability to adapt to the diverse patient population within the UAE.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Comprehensive Patient Assessment:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing abilities using standardized and non-standardized assessment tools.
  • Evaluate cognitive-communication skills and their impact on functional communication.
  • Analyze assessment data to develop accurate diagnoses and individualized treatment plans.
  • Individualized Treatment Planning & Implementation: Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to meet the specific needs of patients.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to:
  • Articulation and phonological therapy.
  • Language therapy for expressive and receptive language disorders.
  • Voice therapy.
  • Fluency therapy.
  • Cognitive-communication therapy.
  • Dysphagia evaluation and treatment.
  • Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) assessment and training.
  • Adapt interventions to meet the cultural and individual needs of patients within the UAE.


Documentation and Communication:

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to Royal Health Group’s documentation standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to collaborative patient care.


Patient and Family Education:

  • Provide culturally sensitive education and training to patients and families on communication and swallowing strategies, home exercise programs, and assistive devices.
  • Empower patients and caregivers to promote effective communication and safe swallowing in their daily lives.
  • Professional Development and Compliance: Maintain a current understanding of speech-language pathology best practices and advancements through continuing education.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards set by the DHA/DOH and Royal Health Group.
  • Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants and students as required.
  • Comply with all Royal Health Group policies and procedures.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid DHA or DOH license to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the UAE.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in Arabic is mandatory


Preferred Experience:

  • Pediatric SLP experience.
  • Specialized certifications or training in areas such as dysphagia, pediatric speech-language pathology, or neurological communication disorders.
  • Knowledge of local healthcare regulations and practices.
