Teacher of English (Secondary School) – August 2026 Start

Dubai British School Jumeirah are currently recruiting for a number of exceptional educational professionals to become members of the Secondary team for the AY 2026 – 2027.

The Role

The successful candidate will be a skilled classroom practitioner who contributes meaningfully to both student learning and school culture. They will design learning experiences that celebrate student individuality, challenge thinking, and develop essential competencies for success in an ever-changing world.

As our Secondary School grows into Year 8, we are looking for someone who is invigorated by the challenge of developing and delivering the Key Stage 3 English curriculum alongside our existing English specialist. An enjoyment of this specific phase of education is vital, but we also want applicants who are excited by the challenge of planning our growth towards the exam cycles up ahead.

Skills

Candidate Profile

Essential

• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, BEd or equivalent)
• A minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a relevant setting
• Evidence of strong teaching practice and student progress
• Alignment with DBSJ’s ethos and commitment to professional reflection and growth
• Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular and whole-school initiatives
• Understanding of data-informed teaching and inclusive strategies

Desirable

• Experience in British or international curriculum schools
• Familiarity with KHDA or DSIB frameworks
• Experience of designing learning for Key Stage 3
