Job Description
We are seeking an outstanding and experienced Teacher of Secondary SEND to join our dynamic and inclusive learning support team. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting students of determination and committed to ensuring that every learner is empowered to achieve their full potential.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience working within a secondary school setting and a sound understanding of exam access arrangements, including the administration, coordination, and compliance requirements associated with external examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted intervention and support for students with additional learning needs across the secondary phase.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external specialists to develop and implement individualized support strategies.
- Assess students’ learning needs and monitor progress effectively.
- Lead and administer access arrangements in line with JCQ / examination board regulations and school policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and evidence for access arrangements applications and reviews.
- Support students during examinations and ensure appropriate accommodations are implemented effectively.
- Promote an inclusive learning environment that enables all students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a Secondary SEN Teacher.
- Previous experience administering exam access arrangements is essential.
- Strong knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience within a British Curriculum school environment is desirable.
