Vascular Surgeon-Visiting Physician role

• Kanad hospital is looking for a Vascular surgeon to join us on a Visiting Physician role (which means the candidate already will have a full time DOH/UAE license and will be working with Kanad on a part time basis). Expected patients: varicose veins, interventions, sclerotherapy; adult and pediatric population.More services can be added.
• Position Summary: The vascular surgeon renders appropriate care to vascular surgical patients with a focus on varicose veins; provides surgical consultations on request of Kanad Hospital medical staff members or outside physicians.

1. Outpatient Clinics
   1. The surgeon provides surgical care in line with his capacities, credentialing and privileges with a focus on vascular surgery:
   2. The consultant will assess surgical patients referred by other Kanad Hospital or outside physicians with a focus on varicose veins although there is a possibility that other consults might be made if within the range of expertise.
   3. Medical and surgical history and physical data are obtained in surgical patients; patient records are reviewed.
   4. Orders, evaluates and reviews appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures.
   5. Performs diagnostic procedures as required.
   6. Prepares a plan of care.
   7. Admits patients to the ward as indicated.
   8. Schedules cases for procedures in line with hospital policies.
   9. Performs appropriate therapeutic procedures.
   10. Refers patients to other or outside health care providers as indicated.
2. Inpatient Ward
   1. Rounds in the ward as applicable.
   2. Provides adequate directions to ward nurses regarding admitted surgical patients’ care as well as regarding surgical consultations in other patients.
   3. Directs nurses in procedures for preoperative and postoperative care such as administering sedatives, prescribing diets, and preparing operative area of patients.
3. Operating Room
   1. Performs appropriate surgical procedures as credentialed and treats patients with postoperative complications.
   2. Directs OR nursing staff in regard to procedure-related performance.
   3. Adheres to OR policies.

Qualification

Education: Board certified or MD in Vascular Surgery 
License – DOH/DHA licensed or UAE licensed candidates only

Experience

Minimum two years related experience in a hospital setting.
