The development commenced with its first phase in 2021, with an anticipated completion date set for 2025. Under the leadership of CEO Yousif Ahmed Al Mutawa, Sharjah Sustainable City prioritizes environmental, social, and economic sustainability, with the goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions and fostering a lifestyle centered around green principles.
