About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to lead the company’s growth strategy within the engineering consultancy and project management sector in Dubai. This senior role is responsible for identifying, developing, and converting high-value business opportunities, overseeing tender and proposal submissions, and driving revenue growth in alignment with company objectives.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, a proven track record in business development within the UAE construction and consultancy sector, and an extensive professional network across developers, consultants, and government authorities.
This position requires a blend of strategic vision, client relationship management, and hands-on sales execution to ensure the company maintains a leading market position in the engineering and project management consultancy space.Key Responsibilities:1. Strategic Market Development & Growth
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company’s long-term goals.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities in residential, commercial, mixed-use, and infrastructure projects.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market movements to position the company competitively.
- Build partnerships and alliances to strengthen the company’s market presence.
2. Sales Leadership & Client Acquisition
- Lead all business development activities, from lead generation to deal closure.
- Present and promote the company’s project management and engineering consultancy services to high-level decision-makers.
- Develop customized proposals and negotiate contracts to maximize profitability while ensuring client satisfaction.
- Consistently achieve or exceed defined sales and revenue targets.
3. Tendering & Proposal Management
- Oversee the preparation, coordination, and submission of EOIs, RFQs, RFPs, and prequalification documents.
- Collaborate with internal teams (design, planning, cost control, and technical departments) to ensure submissions are accurate, competitive, and compliant.
- Develop standardized templates and strategies to enhance bid success rates.
4. Client Relationship & Key Account Management
- Act as the primary liaison for key accounts and high-value clients.
- Build and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships to ensure repeat business and referrals.
- Manage client portfolios and interactions through CRM systems, ensuring transparent and effective communication.
5. Corporate Representation & Branding
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and exhibitions to enhance visibility and strengthen positioning.
- Support the marketing team in preparing capability statements, case studies, and promotional materials.
- Contribute to thought leadership initiatives that highlight the company’s expertise and innovation.
6. Reporting & Performance Management
- Maintain a robust and accurate sales pipeline and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Analyze KPIs related to business development activities and recommend improvements.
- Prepare forecasts and revenue projections to guide strategic decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of proven experience in business development within the engineering consultancy, project management, or construction sector in the UAE.
- Strong network of contacts with developers, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities (Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DDA, RTA, DEWA, etc.).
- Demonstrated success in securing contracts, managing client relationships, and delivering business growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM systems, and proposal/tender management tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP, RICS, or equivalent certifications in project management or consultancy.
- Experience with government and semi-government tenders in Dubai.
- Familiarity with UAE building codes, regulations, and approval processes.
- Arabic language proficiency is an advantage.
