Company Description Samira Maatouk Group is a UAE-based coffee company with a heritage dating back to 1949, when the founder opened the first coffee business in Lebanon. The Group serves retail, café, foodservice, and business customers worldwide through a portfolio of specialized coffee brands. It operates coffee roasting facilities in Abu Dhabi and manages over 30 outlets under the “Maison Samira Maatouk” and “Samira Maatouk Originale” brands, offering personalized coffee blends and gourmet food. Its product range includes Arabic, Turkish, espresso, and filter coffees, and it is the UAE distributor for Fakir coffee machines. The Group is led by owner and Chairperson Samira Maatouk, who is actively involved in overseeing operations and growth.
Role Description The Cost Control Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi, responsible for monitoring and controlling costs across the Group’s operations. The role includes preparing and reviewing cost reports, analyzing variances, and ensuring accurate cost allocation for production, distribution, and retail outlets. The specialist will collaborate with finance and operations teams to develop and maintain cost control procedures, support budgeting and forecasting, and recommend cost optimization initiatives. Daily activities involve tracking actual costs against budgets, validating cost data in the accounting systems, and providing clear, timely cost information to management for decision-making. The role also involves contributing to internal controls, supporting audits, and helping standardize cost-related processes across the business.
Qualifications
- Strong cost control and cost management skills, with experience in implementing and maintaining cost control frameworks.
- Proficiency in cost reporting and cost accounting, including preparing detailed cost analyses and supporting financial statements.
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify variances, and propose practical cost-saving measures.
- Relevant academic background, such as a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on-site.
- Previous experience in FMCG, foodservice, manufacturing, or retail environments is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language skills are beneficial.
