Role Description The Senior Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing activities. The role includes preparing and reviewing financial statements, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with internal policies, local regulations, and applicable accounting standards. The Senior Accountant will support budgeting and forecasting, monitor project costs, analyze variances, and provide financial insights to management for marine and construction projects. Additional responsibilities include supervising junior accounting staff, coordinating with auditors and external stakeholders, and helping improve financial processes and controls. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi.
Qualifications

  • Strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and variance analysis, ideally within construction, engineering, or marine industries.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, along with advanced MS Excel skills for financial analysis and data management.
  • Sound knowledge of applicable accounting standards and local regulatory requirements, with experience supporting audits and internal controls.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with operations, project management, and senior leadership teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a senior accounting or similar role, preferably in marine, construction, or industrial sectors in the region.
