Design Manager – Residential
 
The Design manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of projects in line with management requirements, and responsible for all aspects related to the production of a successful proposal and design packages including enforcement of processes, and quality assurance. In addition to ensuring following up on authority’s approval and be the responsible team members on the project schedule and assigned budget.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor and follow up on the full design packages including PD and DD proposals in coordination with all design disciplines for the assigned projects.

• Assist in resolving any design issues as per authorities’ regulations.

• Enforce general design procedures during design process.

• Enforce compliance of coordination procedures with Architecture, ID, MEP, and Structural departments within concept design team, and take charge in resolving any coordination issues.

• Keep up of latest design requirements, NOCs, sustainability, and environmental requirements, and make team aware of these requirements.

• Review drawings and ensure compliance with authority design guidelines and regulations and master developers DCR.

• Periodically Review projects design progress with HOD to ensure compliance of project to initially set design direction, including monitoring project schedule and approved budget.

• Initiate all required RFPs during designs stages and manage the procurement RFPs for the assigned projects.

• Direct and manage the team to modify existing designs, based on management direction.

• Follow-up, manage, and keep track of project changes and adjustments. liaise with all stake holders.

• Assist Sales, and marketing teams based on direction given by management.

• Provide support to junior team members while guiding them throughout work processes.

• Attend meetings with external consultants and authorities when needed.

• Assist HOD to manage work of external consultants.

• Assist HOD in identifying issues in workflow, and processes.

• Manage project health and resources allocation.

• Manage all contractual obligations

Educational Qualification:

  • MSc Degree / Bachelor’s Degree in architecture
  • Project management certificate is an advantage

Experience:

  • Minimum 15-20 Years

Computer and software proficiency:

• AutoCAD [2d & 3d] • Adobe Photoshop-CS • Sketch-up (Optional) • MS Projects
