Job Purpose
To teach and educate students according to the educational needs, abilities and attainment potential of individual students entrusted to his/her care. To encourage each student to reach their academic potential through enthusiastic and personalised teaching.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction tailored to meet diverse learning needs, in line with curriculum and inclusion guidelines.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with staff and parents, ensuring they align with ADEK’s Inclusion Framework.
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that address specific grade-level learning outcomes while catering to individual student needs.
- Coordinate and collaborate with subject and classroom teachers to align lesson plans, promote co-teaching, and ensure interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
- Provide both direct and indirect instruction, based on students’ support requirements.
- Engage in short- and long-term planning for targeted student development.
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress through regular evaluations and provide timely feedback.
- Prepare and share quarterly individual student achievement reports with parents.
- Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and ownership of learning.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies tailored to the needs of students with learning differences.
- Accept and integrate coaching and feedback from the leadership team to enhance instructional practices.
- Act as a mentor/advisor to assigned students, monitoring both academic and behavioural development.
- Support the implementation of ADEK’s National Identity initiatives across the curriculum and school culture.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or Head of Inclusion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (QFE Level 7) in English or a related field—properly attested and UAE-equivalency certified.
- A recognized teaching qualification—such as a Teaching diploma, PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or equivalent licensure from your home country.
- Valid IELTS band 6 for non-native speakers.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years teaching experience as an Inclusion Teacher.
- Prior experience working with students of determination or in an inclusive setting is highly preferred.
