Job Description

  • Manage the needs of the ned user against those of any service providers
  • Monitoring hardware, software and system performance metrics
  • Install, configure and maintain servers, PC’s peripherals, IT tools/equipment, software
  • tools, packaged software, antivirus, utilities and software patches
  • Training end-users (Academic & Non-Academic Staff) on hardware functionality and software programs
  • Respond to emergency calls to classrooms for equipment, software or network problems
  • Managing the school apps/ IT systems and training the staff to use the systems efficiently
  • Giving desktop support/ trouble shooting to all members of the school community
  • Managing IT Equipment including Laptops, Desktop PC, Computer Labs and other whole school IT facilities
  • Printer Management including the re-ordering of consumables
  • Undertake computer rebuild when appropriate
  • Set up and removal of IT Equipments (Assemblies, presentations, trainings, etc)
  • Assist in new official email ID creation for the staff
  • Assist in creation of credentials for staff and students for assessments and other school IT systems
  • Maintenance of school shared storage and providing necessary access to the school staff as directed by SLT
  • Activation and deactivation of email ID in line with the HR requests
  • Create and maintain email groups
  • Assist during student assessment and setting up iPads and other devices to facilitate the assessments
  • Other reasonable duties as requested

Skills

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in IT
Experience: • At least 4 years’ experience in a similar role

Competencies:

  • Knowledge and understanding of all IT issues in school.
  • Regular updates should be part of the day-to-day role and being aware of them is essential
  • Ability to communicate with all staff is important especially when technical issues that may affect the day-to-day practice.
  • An ability to assess the school hardware and keep stock in as good a working condition as possible so that the SLT can plan for replacement is essential
