Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Medical Coder at our Abu Dhabi location. The Medical Coder will be responsible for accurately coding patient diagnoses and procedures, utilizing their knowledge of medical terminology, coding practices, and health information management. Daily tasks include reviewing patient records, ensuring coding accuracy, and maintaining compliance with coding guidelines.

Responsibility

  • Review and analyze medical records to determine accurate codes for patient diagnoses.
  • Assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services performed by healthcare providers.
  • Ensure compliance with medical coding guidelines, regulations, and standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnosis and coding queries.
  • Conduct coding audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of medical records.
  • Identify and report discrepancies or inconsistencies in coding data and documentation.
  • Keep abreast of updates to coding systems and healthcare regulations and guidelines.
  • Assist with the maintenance and updating of coding procedure manuals and guidelines.
  • Liaise with insurance companies to facilitate billing and resolve reimbursement issues.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent is required.
  • Experience managing medical records and performing accurate medical coding tasks.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology required.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and coding software systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high accuracy under pressure.
  • Outstanding communication skills for effective collaboration with clinical staff.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and maintaining the privacy of patient information.
