Orthopedic Surgeon
Description
Position Summary: Provides Orthopedic care in line with capacities, credentialing and privileges; Examines, diagnoses, and treats, by surgical and conservative means, diseases, injuries and disorders of musculoskeletal system services
Specific Duties:
Outpatient Clinic:
Examines, diagnoses, and treats diseases and injuries of musculoskeletal system by surgical and conservative means and application of corrective mechanical devices;
Prepares and reviews case histories and obtains data through interviews;
Examines patients and determines x-ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests required;
Interprets test results and evaluates examination findings;
Determines procedures for preoperative and postoperative care, and applies surgical procedures and coordinates operation with anesthesiologist.
Reduces and immobilizes fractures by open or closed methods, using such corrective devices as braces, casts, and splints;
Administers and prescribes such conservative measures of treatment as antibiotics, drugs;
Prescribes appropriate treatment and Administers medications;
Performs diagnostic procedures as needed.

Inpatient Ward:
Performs diagnostic procedures Rounds in the ward on admitted or postoperative orthopedic patients as applicable
Provides adequate directions to ward nurses regarding admitted orthopedic patients’ care as well as regarding orthopedic consultations in other patients.
Directs nurses in procedures for preoperative and postoperative care

Operating Room:
Performs appropriate orthopedic procedures in accordance with capacities, credentialing and privileges;
Performs orthopedic procedures and coordinates surgery with the anesthesiologist and OR staff;
Directs OR nursing staff in regard to procedure-related performance
Qualification
Education: Board certified or MD in Orthopedic Surgery
License – DOH/DHA licensed or DOH passer or DOH exam exempted preferred
Experience
Preferably Arabic speaker, who does clinic and excellent surgery, sees adults and children, and is comfortable treating newborns with hip dysplasia, children with fractures, basic sports injuries, and other adult orthopedic injuries.
Excellent spine work would be good
