Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women’s and children’s hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Women’s Health. The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full-fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE. This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies,supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.

We are seeking compassionate, skilled Registered Midwife to join our maternity services team and provide exceptional antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to women and their newborns. This role offers the opportunity to practice evidence based, woman centred midwifery in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment that values safety, excellence, and compassion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive antenatal care, including assessment, monitoring, education, and support for pregnant women.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout pregnancy and identify any potential complications.
  • Conduct health assessments, obtain medical histories, and develop individualized care plans.
  • Educate expectant mothers and families on pregnancy, childbirth, nutrition, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
  • Assist and manage normal labor and delivery, ensuring the safety and comfort of both mother and baby.
  • Monitor labor progress, fetal heart rate, and maternal vital signs during childbirth.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to obstetric emergencies and complications.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and within the scope of practice.
  • Provide pain management support and guidance during labor and delivery.
  • Deliver immediate postpartum care to mothers after childbirth.
  • Assess and monitor newborn health, including vital signs and adaptation to extrauterine life.
  • Support and promote breastfeeding, including lactation education and assistance.
  • Provide postnatal care, education, and emotional support to mothers and families.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, care provided, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Ensure infection prevention and control measures are followed at all times.
  • Advocate for the rights, preferences, and cultural needs of women and their families.
  • Participate in patient safety, quality improvement, and clinical governance initiatives.
  • Provide counseling and support regarding family planning and reproductive health.
  • Maintain professional competency through continuing education and compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery or Nursing with Midwifery qualification.
  • Valid DOH/DHA license and current home country license
