Job Description

.1 Primary Responsibility Technical competencies General: • Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric patients as per Clinic OPD protocols. • Usage and management of crash cart in emergency situations. • Pain assessment & fall risk assessment. • Sample collection for adults, pediatrics & new born • Follow the infection control protocols and guidelines. • Participate in the disaster management activities of the organization. • Ensure patient and staff safety in case of an internal or external disaster as per the facility management standards. • Assist for all types of wound dressing and bandaging • Nursing management of fractures and complications, types and application of splints & casts • Early identification of clinical declines and nursing management • Sound knowledge about JCI protocols. • Ensure that clear and accurate records and documents are maintained. • Follow up of the investigations and procedures in collaboration with the Laboratory, Radiology, etc. as applicable. • Ensure prompt transfer and receipt of patients: interdepartmental and admissions. • Co-ordinate with the other healthcare team members to improve the quality of patient care. • Initiate the Code Blue in case of Medical Emergency as per the policy. General Equipment competency: • Oxygen cylinder and flow meter (both wall mounted oxygen and oxygen cylinder) • Nebulizer • Glucometer • Digital weighing machine • BP apparatus /Thermometers • Suction machine (both wall mounted and transportable) • Defibrillator • Handling special equipment in ENT, Dermatology Specific technical competency: • Monitor any untoward reactions of patient and report to the in-charge /supervisor. • Provide basic nursing care for all categories of patients. • Use universal aseptic techniques during wound care and dressings. • Follow proper Vaccination techniques & nursing management, including health education and follow-up • Identify the clinical declines based on assessment. Administrative: • Co-ordinate daily patient care activities and report daily activity to in charge supervisor. • Ensure that the patients and their relatives are handled professionally. • Adhere to MOH guidelines and policies during patient care. • Ensure that Insurance protocols are followed while treating the Insurance patients. • Active participation as team member in the unit. Educational: • Participate in staff development activities, in-service education, Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) and CPR training. • Encourage and support new employees while they are getting oriented to the Unit. Organizational • Comply with the organizational policies. • Support the nursing department in achieving the organizational goals. • Ensure that the nursing staff works towards the achievement of the objectives and goals of the nursing department. • Promote commitment, dedication and standard patient care. 4.2 Secondary Responsibility • Maintain professional conduct with internal and external customers for a robust working environment. • Ensures adequate focus on personal professional growth relevant to taking on more challenging assignments. • Attends training for self-development. • Participates in the performance evaluation system. • Perform other duties as and when assigned based on the requirement. • Encourage and support new employees while they are getting oriented to the unit.
