Job Description
A Registered Nurse (RN) in Cath Lab Services is responsible for delivering specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures. This role supports cardiologists in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while ensuring patient safety, precision, and seamless workflow within the catheterization laboratory.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures (angiogram, angioplasty, stenting)
- Assist cardiologists during procedures by managing instruments and monitoring patient status
- Operate and monitor cath lab equipment (hemodynamic monitors, imaging systems)
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and conscious sedation as required
- Continuously monitor vital signs and respond to emergencies in real-time
- Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols
- Provide pre- and post-procedure patient care, including education and recovery monitoring
- Document procedures, observations, and patient responses accurately
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Nursing (BSc/GNM)
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Cath Lab experience preferred (freshers with critical care exposure can be considered)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
