Registered Nurse – Operation Room
Job Description
The Registered Nurse – Operation Room provides high-quality clinical care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will maintain a safe, sterile environment and support the surgical team in both scrub and circulatory roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain sterility: Prepare the operating room with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Support surgeons: Act as a scrub nurse by passing instruments or a circulating nurse by managing overall room flow.
- Assess patients: Verify patient identity, surgical consents, and pre-operative checklists.
- Monitor safety: Track patient vitals, sponge counts, and instrument counts during procedures.
- Document care: Record detailed surgical timelines, intra-operative data, and specimen handovers accurately.
- Coordinate transfer: Assist in safely moving patients to the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
Requirements
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in the Operation Room post-graduation.
- Licensure: Active Dubai Health Authority (DHA) RN License or valid DHA Eligibility Letter.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
- Skills: Strong expertise in aseptic techniques, surgical instruments, and emergency protocols.
