Senior Video Content Producer

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Creative Video Lead/ Senior Video Content Producer with strong documentary experience, a refined cinematic eye, and a deep understanding of modern social media storytelling. This is a senior role for someone who can lead video projects creatively and strategically, guide a team, and shape content that is visually powerful, emotionally engaging, and relevant for today’s digital platforms.

The ideal candidate should not only be technically strong in shooting, directing, and editing workflows, but should also be a strong visual storyteller with the ability to observe people, culture, emotions, spaces, and real moments. A background or interest in documentary filmmaking, anthropological filmmaking, cultural storytelling, human-centered narratives, or observational cinema will be highly preferred.

This person should be able to lead and manage content creators, develop creative concepts, supervise shoots, improve production quality, and bring fresh ideas for campaigns, events, branded content, testimonials, social-first videos, and documentary-style productions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, development, production, and delivery of high-quality video content for digital platforms, campaigns, events, websites, and social media.
  • Provide creative direction for video projects, ensuring each piece has a strong concept, clear story, emotional value, and cinematic quality.
  • Lead and mentor a team of video content creators, videographers, editors, and production support staff.
  • Develop original ideas, treatments, initial scripts, visual approaches, and storytelling structures for different types of content.
  • Bring documentary-style thinking to projects by identifying real stories, human emotions, cultural details, and authentic moments.
  • Supervise and direct shoots for campaigns, testimonials, interviews, events,
  • branded content, live-produced shows, and social media formats.
  • • Ensure strong cinematic quality in framing, lighting, camera movement,
  • composition, sound, pacing, and editing rhythm.
  • • Translate brand objectives into compelling visual narratives that work across
  • Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, websites, and campaign
  • platforms.
  • Understand and apply modern social media strategies, including hooks, short-form pacing, platform behavior, audience retention, vertical video formats, and trend-based storytelling.
  • Work closely with marketing, creative, communication, and business teams to align video content with brand strategy and campaign goals.
  • Manage multiple video projects at different stages, from concept development to shoot planning, post-production, review, and final delivery.
  • Review edits, guide visual style, improve storytelling flow, and ensure final outputs meet professional standards.
  • Build efficient production workflows, organize resources, and ensure deadlines are met without compromising creative quality.
  • Analyze video performance, audience response, and platform insights to improve future content strategy.
  • Stay updated with global visual trends, documentary formats, social media storytelling, branded content, and emerging production techniques.
  • Maintain consistency in brand tone, visual language, quality, and production values across all video content.

Requirements

  • Proven senior-level experience in video production, documentary filmmaking, branded content, social media content, or creative video direction.
  • Previous experience leading or managing a video team, content team, production crew, or creative department.
  • Strong portfolio or showreel demonstrating cinematic work, documentary-style storytelling, campaign videos, interviews, social content, and high-quality visual direction.
  • Excellent understanding of documentary grammar, real-life storytelling, human-centered narratives, and observational filmmaking.
  • Strong command of camera direction, lighting, composition, sound, interviews, visual mood, pacing, and edit structure.
  • Solid understanding of modern social media content strategies, including reels, short-form video, vertical storytelling, platform trends, audience engagement, and retention techniques.
  • Ability to lead both small solo productions and larger team-based shoots.
  • Strong knowledge of editing workflows using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar professional software.
  • Colour grading knowledge and visual finishing sense will be an advantage.
  • Experience with gimbals such as DJI Ronin or similar stabilizers is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, teams, timelines, and creative expectations under pressure.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Film, Documentary Filmmaking, Cinematography, Media Studies, Visual Communication, Anthropology, Cultural Studies, or a related ield is preferred.
  • Experience or academic interest in anthropological filmmaking, ethnographic film, cultural documentation, documentary cinema, or visual anthropology will be considered a strong plus.
