Amana Healthcare is seeking a Specialist Psychiatrist with a focus on Elderly Psychiatry to provide comprehensive mental health care for geriatric patients across long-term care, rehabilitation, and complex medical settings. The role involves managing age-related psychiatric conditions, cognitive disorders, and comorbidities in collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage psychiatric conditions in elderly patients, including dementia, delirium, depression, anxiety, and late-onset psychosis.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care tailored to the geriatric population.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing teams, psychologists, therapists, social workers, and families to ensure holistic care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and care planning meetings.
  • Ensure accurate clinical documentation in line with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance, and best-practice development in elderly mental health care.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree with completion of recognized postgraduate training in Psychiatry.
  • Valid DOH (Abu Dhabi) Specialist Psychiatry license or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in Elderly / Geriatric Psychiatry.
  • Sound knowledge of psychiatric care within long-term care, rehabilitation, or complex care settings.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical judgment skills.
