- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for upgrading and modernization of utility equipment in various areas.
- To be responsible for taking decision on project work being carried out inside the hospital premises.
- Dealing with government organizations and other establishments in relation with maintenance department.
- Responsible for planning, costing and execution of various projects inside the hospital premises.
- Taking policy decision in co-ordination with the management.
- To be responsible to look after the welfare of the staff in the department.
- Fixing of contractors for specific jobs with the help of system-in-charge.
- Long-term planning in taking up renovation/modifications.
- Responsible to prepare and project budget for maintenance activities.
- To contribute to Quality initiatives
- To train the staff for effective application and up-gradation of equipment.
- Conveying day-to-day meetings of engineers/supervisors and analysing problems and finding solutions.
- To co-ordinate with other departments for different projects.
- To analyse the day-to-day problems which are recurring in nature and finding solutions for the same.
- To do the appraisal of the staff with the help of Assistant Engineer and System  In charges.
- To analyse the complaints and take necessary actions.
- To take personnel decisions regarding the staff.
- Fixing of contractors for specific jobs with the help of system in-charge.
- Long-term planning in taking up renovations /modifications.
- To be responsible for disciplined departmental functioning.
- To contribute to Quality initiatives
- To perform any job /work as and when assigned by the superior.
- To set up specific targets in the departments.
- To see work related problems faced by Technicians/supervisors and finding solutions.
- To perform any job /work as and when assigned by the superior.
- To manage the respective section in day-to-day activities.
- To carry out all routine, preventive maintenance scheduling.
- To organize manpower, materials for the day-to-day activities.
- To assign work for technicians.
- To overlook the contract jobs in the respective fields.
- To take care of welfare of the staff.
- To be a member of the FMS committee and to contribute actively.
- To identify risk factors and take necessary actions.
ELECTRICAL
- To check in the logbook for the day’s work.
- To allocate the manpower for the same.
- To arrange the necessary materials
- To indent the materials if items are not available.
- Â Inspecting the floor distribution panels and electrical rooms.
- To cross check the generators log book.
- To allocate preventive maintenance work.
- To maintain History cards.
- To ensure that the allocated work is completed.
- To co-ordinate with TNEB for the supply of power.
- To carry out Electrical inspection with CIEG inspectors and to rectify the problems mentioned by them.
- To carry out other works as and when assigned.
- To check in the logbook for the day’s work.
- To prepare for preventive maintenance.
- To carry out breakdown maintenance.
- To maintain the air handling units, fan coil units , window a/c’s, split a/c’s, package units and central air conditioning plants.
- To carry out modification works in A/C.
- To maintain and inspect the chilled water line system.
- To plan for shutdown works and carryout the same.
- To inspect all the A/C equipment’s.
- To prepare costing work for major renovations/modifications.
- To attend to it’s problems and solving them
UTILITY MAINTENANCE
- To check the logbook for the day’s work and carry out the same.
- To arrange for routine preventive maintenance.
- To go for rounds to kitchen, laundry and C.S.S.D for the functioning of equipment.
PLUMBING
- To inspect the quality and quantity of water.
- To arrange water for the hospital use.
- To fix up tankers for supplying water.
- To inspect drainage ducts and attend to the problem.
- To organise waterline alteration works.
- To seek to drainage maintenance.
- To co-ordinate with corporation personnel in solving the problems.
- To seek to pollution control board.
- To maintain fire hydrant.
- To inspect pumps for it’s functioning.
- To maintain softener plant.
- To prepare schedule for tank cleaning.
- To plan, organise and do costing work for new projects.
BUILDING/FLOOR
- To coordinate with the housekeeping and Guest Relations department in solving the problems.
- To carry out work in under-repair rooms.
- To organize for minor modifications /renovations.
- To prepare schedule for painting.
- To organize for the civil and carpentry works in the hospital.
- To go for rounds and note down the problems and attending the same.
- To prepare Work order Sanction and carry out the same.
- To carry out the work requested in the ION sent by the various departments.
- To arrange for manpower in case of breakdown in boilers and in other areas.
- To inform HOD about the problem and getting it approved for performing the  same.
- To deal with the contractor in the respective areas of work.
- To perform any job /work as and when assigned by the superior.
- To carry out the activities during the shift.
- To attend to problems related to patient areas and other public areas.
- To look after the job order send from other department.
- To take care of operation of utility equipment such as A/C plant, generator, boilers, pump rooms.
- To report to the systems in charge regarding various breakdown in plant system and major problems.
- To note down the activities in the logbook and following it up.
- To organise manpower to meet day-to-day problems.
- To perform any job /work as and when assigned by the superior.

Qualifications
- B.E / Graduate Engineer
- 5 to 10 years experience in the relevant field.
- With management skills, interpersonal skills, time management, knowledge of equipment and maintenance, analytical skills
- Current license from the country of origin with DOH license to practice in Dubai, UAE.
- Good English spoken and written, Arabic language advantageous, desirable, but not essential.
