About the Role

Energetech is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our finance team. This role will support our day-to-day financial operations, ensure accuracy in reporting, and contribute to the integrity of our internal controls.

The Accountant will play a key role in managing payables, reconciliations, reporting, and VAT compliance, while also supporting audits and financial closes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, be comfortable working in a fast-paced international environment, and demonstrate the ability to apply discipline and accuracy in their work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record invoices and general ledger entries in accounting software, in line with internal processes and controls.
  • Manage the full accounts payable lifecycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Reconcile bank statements, petty cash, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare monthly OPEX reporting, including variance analysis against budget.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes.
  • File quarterly VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  • Provide documentation and administrative support during audits.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial workflows and accurate reporting.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in accounting; exposure to commodities, trading, or logistics industries is an advantage.
  • Part-qualified ACCA / ACA / CPA or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (NetSuite an advantage).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
