About The Role
The Assistant Finance Manager supports the Head of Finance in overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective financial controls. The role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, monitoring logistics and supply chain-related costs, and supervising the Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with analytical skills and the ability to collaborate across departments to support informed business decisions.
Reporting To: Head of Finance
Key Responsibilities:
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Coordinate with logistics/supply chain teams to track costs related to freight, customs, inventory, and warehousing
• Monitor and reconcile logistics-related expenses against budgets and contracts
• Support internal controls, audits, and compliance with company policies and local regulations
• Assist with accounts payable/receivable oversight and vendor payment processes
• Prepare VAT filings and ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations
• Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software (SAP experience preferred)
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional certification is a MUST (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent)
• 3–5 years of relevant experience, ideally with exposure to logistics, freight, or supply chain finance
• Strong foundation in core accounting principles and financial reporting
• Prior experience supervising or mentoring junior finance staff is an advantage
• SAP knowledge is a plus
• Proficiency in Excel; strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and lead a small team
