Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lifeguard Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring the safety of all patrons in the aquatic facility.
  • Conduct regular training sessions and drills for lifeguards, emphasizing emergency response techniques and customer service.
  • Monitor pool conditions and water quality, making necessary adjustments to chemical levels to ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Implement and enforce facility rules and regulations, promoting a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors.
  • Assist in scheduling staff shifts, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours and special events.
  • Respond to emergencies promptly, providing first aid and CPR as needed while documenting incidents accurately.
  • Assist with the development of safety protocols and procedures, ensuring all staff are well-informed and compliant.
  • Engage with patrons to promote programs, events, and pool safety, enhancing the overall customer experience.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities, reporting any maintenance issues to ensure a safe environment for users.
  • Support the Lifeguard Manager in administrative tasks, including budget tracking and inventory management.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in recreation management or a related field is preferred.
  • Current certifications in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid, with a willingness to maintain and renew certifications as required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of lifeguarding experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail in high-pressure situations.
  • Physical fitness and swimming proficiency, able to perform rescues and demonstrate proper techniques to staff.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, adapting to the needs of the facility and its patrons.
  • Experience in conflict resolution, addressing patron concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Familiarity with aquatic facility operations, including knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred, with proficiency in English and another language enhancing communication with patrons.
