We have an exciting new opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our organization in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The Business Development Manager at Modon will be responsible for; supporting the identification, evaluation, and development of new growth opportunities in alignment with Modon’s focus on sustainable urban development and smart infrastructure.
This role plays a key part in driving commercial initiatives, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, and contributing to Modon’s overall business expansion, innovation, and strategic objectives.
Roles, Responsibilities, Duties
Market Research & Opportunity Assessment
- Identify and assess new business opportunities, partnerships, and market trends relevant to sustainable infrastructure, smart mobility, and community services.
- Conduct analysis of commercial feasibility, market demand, and potential revenue models to support decision-making.
- Prepare benchmarking reports and business case presentations.
Business Development Execution
- Assist in preparing business cases, VfM, pricing, proposals, pitch decks, term sheets, and RFP responses for business opportunities.
- Support negotiations and commercial discussions with clients, investors, technology providers, and government stakeholders.
- Coordinate the internal process required to evaluate new project opportunities, including due diligence and cross-department collaboration.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Manage contact pipelines and assist in cultivating relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent Modon in client and partner meetings, trade shows, and stakeholder sessions alongside senior team members.
- Act as the point of contact for selected regional business development partners or partners-in-development stages.
Reporting & Planning
- Maintain and update CRM systems, BD trackers, and reporting dashboards.
- Produce regular performance reports, including pipeline tracking, investment opportunity notes, and market scan summaries.
- Monitor and report on competitor activities, regulatory developments, and urban innovation benchmarks.
Qualification(s):
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning or related field.
- Master’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field is advantageous.
Experience and Competencies:
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in business development, with at least 3 years in infrastructure, real estate, or urban innovation domain.
- Experience working with or within development frameworks or in public-private partnership (PPP) projects is advantageous.
Competencies
- Strong analytical and commercial assessment abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Organization and multitasking ability in fast-paced environments.
- Professional fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.
