Job Description
As the Integration & Automation Principal/Specialist, you will spearhead the design, development, and maintenance of our integration solutions. You’ll leverage HL7, FHIR, CCL, SQL, and automation tools to enhance system interoperability, improve data workflows, and ultimately contribute to better patient outcomes. This hands-on role includes working with internal teams and vendors, ensuring regulatory compliance, implementing best practices in project governance, and mentoring team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and maintain HL7, FHIR, and CCL interfaces using integration engines (OpenView, OpenLink, Mirth Connect).
- Ensure data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA) in all integration solutions.
- Apply automation (RPA), version control, and CI/CD methodologies to streamline deployments and enhance system reliability.
- Collaborate with clinical, administrative, supply chain, and financial teams, as well as external vendors, to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver high-quality integration solutions.
- Utilize project management methodologies to oversee the entire integration lifecycle, from planning to implementation.
- Continuously monitor and tune interface performance, proactively addressing potential issues.
- Provide mentorship, training, and knowledge-sharing to internal teams, cultivating a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Offer on-call support to maintain uptime and resolve integration-related incidents promptly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience with HL7, CCL, SQL, and Cerner Millennium-based integrations.
- Expertise in FHIR interoperability standards and healthcare data exchange protocols.
- Preferred HL7/FHIR certifications and familiarity with RPA/automation tools.
- Strong understanding of healthcare compliance, vendor management, and project governance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and mentoring skills.
