Job Description

Identifies training needs of each staff, plans, prepares, and implements an ongoing education program for all nursing staff and evaluate the effectiveness of the program.

Responsibilities

3.1 Supports an environment that allows staff to acquire skills, identify and develop new ideas and ensures
commitment to organizational goals.
3.2 Provides leadership in support of quality initiatives and promotion of healthy workplace environment.
3.3 Builds relationships with staff, peers and colleagues to support interdisciplinary and inter departmental
planning aimed to improve patient outcomes.
3.4 Ensures the quality standards of nursing documentation are maintained according to Organizational policy.
3.5 Liaise effectively with other healthcare providers both internal and external to the Organization
3.6 Facilitates effective communication between patient, family and interdisciplinary healthcare team as required.
3.7 Monitors and evaluates the quality of nursing care provided.
3.8 Actively participates in accreditation activities.
3.9 Audits compliance with organizational documentation standards
3.10 Supports and participates in ongoing educational programs within the nursing department.
3.11 Assesses the learning needs of all staff through training need analysis
3.12 Prepares an annual training calendar as per the learning requirement of staff
3.13 Conducts periodic nursing orientation program for all newly recruited staff.
3.14 Prescribes appropriate teaching/learning interventions based on analyses of learners’ needs.
3.15 Monitors the level of compliance with mandatory education for all staff in the concerned Department.

3.16 Monitors the competency-based orientation programs for nursing staff to improve the of Skills and
knowledge
3.17 Prepares educational program/ activities based on emerging challenges, issues, trends and needs in nursing.
3.18 Uses appropriate evaluation tools to assess the effectiveness of education program.
3.19 Regularly meets the Nursing in-charge of specific departments to assess their learning needs.
3.20 Involve the staff in selecting, planning, and evaluating educational activities.
3.21 Develops and maintains clinical competency checklists as per requirement of each clinical area.
3.22 Train and monitor the staff in mandatory competencies and department specific competencies.
3.23 Develops and implements new competencies for various clinical areas as and when needed.
3.24 Liaises with a multidisciplinary team for educational activities.
3.25 Provides clinical supervision to the staff.
3.26 Develops and ensures the implementation and evaluation of standards of patient care on ongoing basis.
3.27 Ensures the review and evaluation of nursing documentation and the recommendations for appropriate
change as indicated.
3.28 Periodically audits nursing assessment forms and care plans of patients for continuity of care.
3.29 Conducts organized, timely nursing rounds to assess current situation of the patients.
3.30 Acts as clinical/managerial resource for In-charge nurses and all nursing staff.
3.31 Acts as an advocate for patients and nurses.
3.32 Actively participates in the nominated hospital committee meetings.
3.33 Demonstrates deep knowledge of fire safety, patient safety, infection control, waste management and the
other necessary precautions as per hospital policy.
3.34 Conducts HAAD accredited and non-accredited Continuing Nursing Education program.
3.35 Carries out any other duties assigned by Nursing Director.
3.36 Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital
management to comply those requirements.
3.37 Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities
3.38 Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
3.39 Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk
assessments, incident reports

40 Comply with Waste management procedures and policies.
3.41 Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs.
3.42 Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems

Qualifications

4.1 BSc Nursing, MSc is preferred.
4.2 Certification course in BLS, ACLS.
4.3 Five years of clinical experience with minimum of 2 years as nurse educator
4.4 Current active license in country of origin.
4.5 Demonstrates sound decision-making in leadership abilities, with ability to adapt to changes in the working
environment.
4.6 Good communications skills.
4.7 Broad knowledge of nursing theory and practice in various clinical setting.
4.8 Fluent spoken and written English, Spoken Arabic is advantageous but not essential.
4.9 Demonstrates sound decision-making and leadership abilities.
4.10 BLS Provider
4.11 Must display a neat, clean, professional appearance.
4.12 Must understand importance of and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
4.13 Exhibit an attitude, which promotes harmony and goodwill among patients, caregivers, and co-workers.
4.14 Must communicates clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing and in a timely manner.
