Principal Inspector – Public Health (UAE Nationals)
Qualification required: Bachelor’s degree in public health or any related field
Experience required : 3-5 years of experience
- Nationality: Emirati with Family Book ( ONLY)
- Preference UAE Nationals from Dubai (Hatta), Sharjah, and Ajman.
Purpose of the Position Perform advanced-level inspection, investigation, and health surveillance activities at ports to ensure compliance with public health standards and regulations. Apply specialized technical expertise to address complex and high-risk cases, while contributing to the development of regulatory frameworks and the enhancement of inspection methodologies to support public health protection and improve institutional performance.
Responsibilities Main Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct inspection operations at border ports (air, land, and sea), and ensuring compliance with approved health and environmental regulations and standards.
- Follow up on the implementation of the International Health Regulations (IHR 2005) of the World Health Organization, particularly regarding the movement of travelers and goods, ensure procedures align with global health security requirements.
- Conduct in-depth investigations into complex or recurring health complaints, incidents, and violations, document findings, and submitting recommendations to management.
- Implement epidemiological investigations at ports, including contact tracing and applying outbreak response protocols in coordination with the Authority and concerned entities.
- Provide technical guidance, on the job training, and on-site support to health inspection teams to enhance operational efficiency and ensure high quality
- Explain and interpret health regulations and compliance requirements to facility representatives and authorities during inspection visits, to promote regulatory adherence.
- Provide technical opinions and consultations to senior management and team members, especially in complex cases or those with legal and technical dimensions.
- Contribute to the development and update of inspection tools and methods, including the preparation of checklists, work manuals, and the introduction of effective work methodologies.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and support documents for legal and regulatory procedures and strategic decision-making.
- Participate in initiatives and technical committees related to ports and health surveillance and representing public health in coordinating meetings with strategic partners.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the direct manager.
