Job Description

We are searching for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable science teacher who can inspire our students with a passion for the wonders of science. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of science concepts, excellent pedagogical skills at KS3, GCSE and post-16, and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching. Experience in the Diploma at IB is desirable but not essential. The Science Inclusion teacher will be responsible for a mixture of teaching science lessons and supporting students in some science classes.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual committed to authentic inclusion in an environment of high expectation for every child. The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of Special Educational Needs and be passionate about ensuring our students and teachers consistently strive for the best. They will be the key link inclusion teacher for students in specific year groups, responsible for overseeing interventions, supporting students and creating IEP and passport documents. The ability to collaborate effectively with teaching staff, parents, therapists and external agencies is essential to ensure the needs of our students as individuals are consistently met. They will share and develop our vision for inclusion with us, ensuring they work hard to develop relationships within their team and be the spokeperson for inclusive practice in the science department. They will be a reflective practitioner, committed to engaging in professional learning to maintain best practice.

The successful candidate will work in a large department consisting of highly driven individuals who are passionate about improving student outcomes. The science department has achieved continued success over the past few years with outstanding inspection outcomes in both progress and attainment. A successful candidate would be expected to contribute to building on this success and driving us beyond outstanding.

The successful applicant will be required to have the following:

●     GCSE and IB or A Level experience in Science.

●     A B.Ed. or degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent with exceptional subject knowledge.

●     A proven track record of outstanding learning and teaching.

●     Experience which will enable a contribution to our enriched curriculum programme.

●     Experience working with students with additional needs

●     Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification.

●     A mind-set which understands that all children deserve to access high quality learning regardless of their starting point.
