Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with IFRS and company policies.
- Oversee general ledger postings, reconciliations, and monthly closing activities.
- Ensure timely preparation of financial statements, MIS reports, and management dashboards.
- Assist in consolidation of group financials and reporting.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Review and approve supplier invoices, staff claims, and vendor reconciliations.
- Monitor receivables, follow up on collections, and ensure timely settlement.
- Ensure proper aging analysis of payables and receivables.
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory regulations in UAE and other operating countries.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits and provide necessary schedules/support.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Budgeting & Analysis
- Support in preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making for retail operations.
- Monitor cost controls and suggest process improvements for efficiency.
Team & Process Support
- Guide junior accountants and ensure accuracy of their work.
- Collaborate with Operations, HR, and procurement teams to ensure proper financial alignment.
- Drive automation and improvements in accounting and reporting processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (mandatory).
- Professional certification preferred (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent).
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in accounting, with at least 2–3 years in a retail environment.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT, and UAE corporate tax regulations.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/QuickBooks or similar).
- Advanced MS Excel and financial analysis skills.
