Job Description
Lead and support the design, development, and evaluation of Corporate Tax policies and legislative frameworks, while providing technical expertise on complex Corporate Tax matters. The role requires practical hands-on experience in tax policy, taxation advisory, legislation, or related fields, as well as the ability to independently manage technical workstreams and stakeholder engagements.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the development, review, and enhancement of Corporate Tax policies, legislation, and technical frameworks.
• Conduct complex technical assessments and fiscal impact analyses relating to Corporate Tax measures and policy proposals.
• Prepare and review high-level technical memoranda, policy papers, Cabinet submissions, legislative drafting comments, and executive summaries.
• Review and assess Corporate Tax guidance, public clarifications, private clarifications, and technical interpretations issued by relevant authorities.
• Provide technical input on Corporate Tax treatment requests, tax incentives, Free Zone taxation, international tax developments, and related policy matters.
• Lead coordination with government entities, regulatory authorities, international organizations, and external advisors on Corporate Tax policy matters.
• Conduct benchmarking and comparative studies on international Corporate Tax developments and OECD-related initiatives.
• Support the implementation and operationalization of new Corporate Tax policies and legislative amendments.
• Mentor and guide junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing within the department.
• Support strategic projects relating to tax policy reform, economic diversification, investment competitiveness, and revenue sustainability.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, Taxation, Public Policy, or a related field (minimum requirement).
• Relevant professional certifications or postgraduate qualifications (such as ADIT, CPA, ACCA, CTA, CMA, LLM, Master’s in Taxation, or equivalent) are considered an advantage.
• Minimum of 8-12 years of relevant hands-on experience in Corporate Tax, tax policy, tax advisory, legislation, fiscal policy, or related fields.
• Strong technical knowledge of Corporate Tax principles and international tax developments.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage technical assignments and policy workstreams.
• Strong analytical, drafting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Willingness to continuously learn and contribute within a dynamic policy environment.
• Proficiency in Arabic and English is preferred but not mandatory.
