Analyst – Business Development – International Office

We are seeking a highly analytical and globally minded Analyst – Business Development to support AD Ports Group’s international growth agenda. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in financial modeling, market analysis, and strategic evaluation, combined with the ability to work in fast‑paced, cross‑functional, and multicultural environments.
About the International Office
Delivering global ambitions of the UAE’s leadership, the ADPG senior management envisioned the creation of international offices. The International Office is a business unit of AD Ports Group (ADPG) to accelerate its expansion globally, supporting the growth synergy and focuses on developing projects that support the five pillars of ADPG, the 5 business clusters namely Ports, Maritime, Logistics, Digital and ECFZ. Beginning with exploring growth opportunities, ensuring due diligence, and developing project opportunities that triggers growth patterns for all clusters and thus ensuring a balanced growth structure for the whole company and the wider economy of this country. International Office currently spreads in 3 main geographical regions – Africa, Middle East, and Central Asia. ADPG now has presence in almost 40 plus countries. Some well-established operations, some developing projects and some markets are just opening. International Office (IO) acts as the Central bolt connecting these 5 clusters, bringing them together for projects that benefit the overall growth of trade and industry in these regions.
JOB PURPOSE
The Analyst – Business Development – International Office supports ADPG’s global growth strategy by conducting market research, financial analysis and strategic assessments for new business opportunities. Working closely with senior executives, the role helps identify opportunities, develop regional & county-specific strategies, and prepare investment proposals, driving the Group’s global expansion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis & Investment Evaluation:
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models to assess investment opportunities and business feasibility.
- Conduct valuation analysis using discounted cash flow (DCF), NPV, IRR, and other financial methodologies.
- Conduct scenario analyses and sensitivity tests to assess deal viability and structure.
Market Research & Industry Analysis
- Conduct industry benchmarking, competitor analysis, and trade flow assessments.
- Identify trends and opportunities in ports, logistics, shipping, and economic zones.
- Provide data-driven insights to support strategic planning and expansion.
Business Case Development & Strategic Planning
- Assist in the development of long-term business strategies and growth plans.
- Evaluate commercial and financial viability of new projects, partnerships, and acquisitions.
- Support scenario planning and risk assessment for new initiatives.
M&A & Transaction Support:
- Assist in mergers, acquisitions, and joint venture assessments, including due diligence.
- Conduct financial and strategic analysis to support deal structuring and negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal frameworks for transactions.
- Assist in development of competitive bid submission.
Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination:
- Work closely with finance, legal, operations, and strategy teams to align business objectives.
- Support external engagements with investors, partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Prepare executive reports, investor presentations, and board materials.
Project Management & Execution
- Support project execution by tracking milestones, financial performance, and key deliverables.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring of business initiatives.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
- Prepare transaction progress update presentations.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Monitor financial, legal, and regulatory considerations in business transactions.
- Identify and assess risks related to investments, partnerships, and market conditions.
- Ensure alignment with corporate governance and compliance standards.
Data Analytics & Financial Tools
- Utilize Bloomberg, FactSet, PitchBook, Capital IQ, and other financial databases for research.
- Develop dashboards and reports using Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
- Leverage analytics to provide actionable insights for business development.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Educational and Technical Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or CFA a plus).
Language Skills:
- Fluent in English (both written and verbal).
- Proficiency in other languages is a plus, depending on the regions of focus.
Years of Experience:
- A Minimum 05 – 10 years of experience in in a similar role / International Business Development, Corporate Finance, Banking, Private Equity, Consulting, International Consulting Firm (internship experience may be considered).
Nature of Experience:
- Conduct market research and financial analysis to identify global expansion opportunities in ports, logistics, and economic zones.
- Develop financial models, feasibility studies, and investment proposals.
- Support M&A, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships through due diligence and valuation.
- Assist in regional and country-specific strategy development.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive business growth.
- Track project performance, assess risks, and ensure regulatory compliance.
