Director of Business Development, Thumbay International Research Center
Thumbay International Research Center is seeking for a dynamic and strategic Director of Business Development to lead business growth initiatives that drive partnerships, funding opportunities, and commercialization of research outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the business development strategy aligned with the institute’s research and innovation goals.
- Lead the business growth and operational oversight ensuring sustainability, utilization, and revenue generation.
- Identify and secure industry collaborations, and strategic alliances with national and international organizations.
- Explore funding opportunities, grants, sponsorships, and investment partnerships to support research programs and projects.
- Lead initiatives related to commercialization of research outputs, intellectual property, and technology transfer.
- Establish collaborations with biotech, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and technology companies.
- Represent the institute in industry forums, conferences, and networking events to enhance visibility and strategic engagement.
- Support the development of innovation hubs, and incubation initiatives.
- Monitor market trends in research and healthcare innovation to identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare partnership agreements, and strategic reports for senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Additional qualifications in business development, innovation management, or technology commercialization will be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in business development, partnerships, or strategic growth within research institutes, healthcare, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or academic organizations.
- Proven experience in building strategic collaborations and securing research funding.
- Experience working with academic research environments or innovation ecosystems is highly desirable.
