Job Purpose

The Social Media Specialist will support the planning, creation, management, and execution of social media content and campaigns across all digital platforms. The role is responsible for strengthening the organization’s digital presence through high-quality, engaging, and culturally relevant content aligned with strategic communication objectives.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in managing government, media, tourism, lifestyle, or strategic communication social media accounts, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment covering campaigns, events, leadership activities, announcements, and real-time digital engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of social media accounts across platforms including Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Develop and execute social media calendars aligned with strategic campaigns, announcements, events, and communication priorities.
  • Write, edit, review, and publish high-quality bilingual social media content in Arabic and English.
  • Ensure all content is aligned with brand tone of voice, communication objectives, and platform best practices.
  • Create engaging social media captions, stories, short-form content concepts, and post copy.
  • Coordinate with designers, videographers, photographers, and content teams to deliver high-quality social media assets.
  • Review visuals, videos, graphics, and copy before publishing to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Support live coverage of events, launches, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support the development and execution of integrated social media campaigns.
  • Contribute ideas and creative concepts to enhance the organization’s digital positioning locally and internationally.
  • Assist in identifying trending topics, viral opportunities, and platform innovations relevant to the organization.
  • Monitor campaign performance and recommend optimization opportunities.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly social media performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Track KPIs including engagement, reach, growth, impressions, sentiment, and audience performance.
  • Analyze platform performance and recommend improvements to content strategy and audience engagement.
  • Monitor online conversations, trends, and sentiment related to the organization and key initiatives.
  • Escalate sensitive issues or reputational risks to management when required.
  • Support community management and ensure timely, professional, and aligned responses across platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, external agencies, and partners on social media requirements.
  • Coordinate with wider communication teams to ensure unified messaging and business continuity.
  • Support the implementation of social media guidelines, governance standards, and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Journalism, Public Relations, or equivalent.
  • 4–6 years of experience in social media management, digital communications, or content creation.
  • Previous experience within government entities, media organizations, tourism, lifestyle, or strategic communication environments is highly preferred.
  • Experience managing bilingual Arabic & English social media accounts is preferred.
