Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant with strong Real Estate / Property Accounting expertise and hands-on experience with Yardi to lead accounting operations and financial reporting across our real estate portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for real estate properties and corporate entities.
  • Manage and review GL, AP, AR, journal entries, accruals, payments, receipts, and reconciliations.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Prepare and review property-level and consolidated financial statements and management reports.
  • Manage property and tenant accounting, including rental income, service charges, deposits, receivables, and operating expenses.
  • Review tenant ledgers, aged receivables, and outstanding balances.
  • Monitor intercompany and related-party transactions.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow projections, and variance analysis.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and support audit and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for property acquisitions, disposals, CAPEX, depreciation, and property investments.
  • Maintain effective accounting controls and procedures.
  • Supervise, review, and mentor accounting team members.

Yardi Responsibilities

  • Manage and review property-level accounting and financial transactions in Yardi.
  • Ensure accurate coding of transactions by property, unit, department, and account.
  • Perform Yardi bank, tenant, vendor, and GL reconciliations.
  • Generate and review property financial statements and management reports.
  • Support lease, tenant, AP, AR, and property accounting processes.
  • Assist with Yardi month-end closing and resolve accounting discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5–8+ years of accounting experience, preferably in Real Estate, Property Management, or Investment companies.
  • Mandatory hands-on experience with Yardi accounting systems.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate and property accounting.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
  • Proven experience in month-end/year-end closing and audit coordination.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and financial reporting.
  • Experience supervising or reviewing accounting team members.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
  • UAE/GCC accounting experience is an advantage.
  • ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
