Curriculum Coordinator

Job Description

Umm Al Quwain Campus of Sharjah American International Schools Group is looking for a Curriculum Coordinator who is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum, assessment, and instructional programs. This role involves assessing the effectiveness of the curriculum in meeting diverse student needs, researching innovative pedagogical strategies, and designing evaluation protocols to measure program outcomes. The Curriculum Coordinator also works closely with teachers to support the creation of student-centered learning environments that challenge learners and foster meaningful connections between academic content and real-world applications.

  • Collaborate with Heads of Departments, Grade Leaders, and teaching staff to plan and coordinate effective horizontal and vertical curriculum alignment across K-12
  • Facilitate the development of curriculum objectives in collaboration with Heads of Departments; monitor implementation and evaluate objective achievement
  • Support faculty in designing relevant classroom curricula, case studies, curriculum-aligned field experiences (in coordination with the Activities Supervisor), and tutorials that meet specific objectives and standards
  • Design and implement comprehensive onboarding for new staff members
  • Provide guidance in course content development and refinement
  • Assist Heads of Departments in developing and producing departmental curriculum guides and course descriptions
  • Coordinate textbook selection, equipment and instructional materials procurement in collaboration with Heads of Departments
  • Facilitate curriculum meetings and professional development sessions; contribute to curriculum training initiatives as appropriate
  • Research educational best practices and share relevant information to teaching and administrative staff
  • Support Heads of Departments in providing targeted instructional guidance
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for the Principal and Senior Leadership Team
  • Attend professional development workshops to remain current with educational advancements
  • Serve as a curriculum resource for teaching staff
  • Promote pedagogical innovation within curriculum areas
  • Perform related duties as assigned
  • Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal
