Kitchen Production Team Leader | Retail | IKEA Jimi Mall Al Ain
Overview of the role
To assist IFB Manager/Team Leader in execution of IKEA Food Service concept in IKEA Swedish deli in line with IKEA concept and ensuring that the daily operation of kitchen and production is supervised and directed at the highest standard.
What you will do
- Ensure our guests are always in focus and strive to make them smile.
- Lead by example and serve as a good ambassador for the IKEA store.
- Maintain a daily dialogue with guests to gain feedback on their experiences.
- Empower and encourage the team to meet the needs of guests.
- Handle customers’ complaints proactively and provide resolutions in a timely manner.
Commercial
- Secure local adaptation of global and country directions to deliver business agendas.
- Enable and follow-up on sustainability performance and progress.
- Conduct periodical competition surveys in the market.
- Ensure menu alignment according to RSO directions.
- Work with stock reports and suggest actions for improvement.
- Maintain stock levels and oversee purchasing and stock rotation.
- Develop and plan the menu according to market needs.
- Monitor food costs, operational costs, and productivity.
- Maintain communication with the team regarding business plans.
- Ensure the IFB inventories are properly received and stored.
People
- Commit to the development of the team through training.
- Empower and support co-workers to perform better.
- Create an environment that values diversity and IKEA culture.
- Handle staffing and roster issues effectively.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of commis chefs and co-workers.
- Ensure effective internal communication.
Steering the business
- Work actively to make the IKEA store successful and high-performing.
- Responsible for the organization of the business area in terms of financial performance.
- Ensure implementation and follow-up of SOP rules and guidelines.
- Build relationships with relevant authorities and suppliers.
- Maintain awareness of food safety legislation.
Operations
- Develop and manage the HACCP system.
- Implement IKEA Food Safety programs in the store.
- Conduct random food safety checks.
- Promote a “safety first” culture among co-workers.
- Ensure all food incidents are reported timely.
- Direct kitchen operations and enforce health and hygiene standards.
- Ensure equipment is maintained to high standards.

What equips you for the role
- 2-3 years food production & service supervisory experience.
- High School/Trade School Graduate in relevant fields.
- Knowledge of culinary or food service industry.
- Strong customer focus and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of HACCP standards.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
