Job Description
Physician assistants work under the supervision of a physician/ surgeon. Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of non- clinical support functions in an outpatient clinical setting, such as assists with insurance approvals, giving information to the physician regarding call backs, making entry on his as directed by respective physicians, directing the patient for laboratory/ radiology tests, providing patients with appointments and any other non- clinical work assigned by the respective physicians.
Responsibilities
- Performs & coordinates front desk duties, including but not limited to, answering incoming telephone calls, obtaining and/or verifying patient information, greeting patients, patient check in/out, providing information regarding insurance status, coordinate and facilitate accurate patient appointment.
- Maintain accurate and strict confidentiality of patient information in electronic and/or manual systems as established by the appropriate protocols, regulations, and policies.
- Coordinate with the lab and radiology, radiographic tests, and authorization request in compliance with physician/registered nurses directives.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Other standard administrative responsibilities /clinical tasks such as filing, medical paperwork, arranging hospital visits and admissions, ordering office and medical supplies and overseeing billing , scheduling patients for health education and preparing patients for examination, assisting in camps and screening campaigns, obtaining feedback forms, coordinating for referrals, and assisting physiciansÂ
Qualifications
- Preferably, completed degree from an accredited institution that is above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Preferably, medical assistant certificate at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
4.3 Needs skills in standard written English and computer, interpersonal skills.
4.4 Arabic language advantageous /desirable, but not essential.
