JESS Jumeirah Primary School is seeking a well – qualified, enthusiastic coach or graduate specialising in Swimming to start in August 2025. The successful candidate will have the ability to extend, challenge and develop our most able swimmers, as well as possessing the ability to inspire and nurture a love for the sport in every pupil in the school. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable coaching and teaching experience whilst being part of an accomplished department. 

The successful candidate will hold a specialist coaching qualification and hold a high level of technical knowledge. Experience in coaching other sports would be desirable.

 The role involves the following: 

  • To work collaboratively to develop a progressive swimming programme to guide coaching throughout the school 
  • To contribute to the overall development of the Physical Education curriculum / Sports Programme and work collaboratively with colleagues using initiative where possible 
  • To plan and deliver swimming squad sessions that will focus on the individual swimmer’s development 
  • To plan and deliver engaging swim lessons for primary school students across the different year groups (primary age groups) to motivate and inspire our students 
  • To foster a positive and encouraging environment to help students build confidence in the water 
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback and support 
  • Being involved in after school and weekend fixtures/tournaments 
  • Being an integral part of the department and within the wider school community

As part of our commitment to our staff’s personal and professional development, comprehensive professional development will be provided to the successful candidate, who will:

• be fully qualified and experienced Sports Coach with a relevant degree in Sports Science and/or a relevant professional swimming coaching qualification

• have relevant recent professional development that qualifies the candidate for this position

• have extensive swimming coaching experience/swims to a high standard

The package offers a generous salary, which includes a housing allowance, and Health care insurance.
