Junior Associate Buyer

About The Role

We are looking for a Talented Junior Associate Buyer to join our Beauty – Buying team. Junior Associate Buyer will support the senior team members with the purchases of high quality merchandise at the most advantageous price in order to meet and maintain merchandising standards and sales and profit objectives    

What You’ll Be Doing

·        Coordinate and follow up on tasks assigned by Junior/Associate Buyers.

·        Follow up with brands / principals on product sample requests from Junior/Associate buyers and ensure that they are available for marketing and online shoots.

·        As above for influence seeding campaigns and VIP gifting.

·        Support with the animation calendar by chasing commercial packs and any other info needed for all temporary podium locations across Department stores and mono stores.

·        Chase brands for new launch templates and support in review of the data.

·        Follow up with principals / suppliers in coordination with planning to ensure collection of products that have been delisted from the store portfolio and have been returned to the respective vendors.

·        Chase suppliers on sample requests to ensure that there is sufficient supply of testers within all of our stores

·        Compile all brand portfolios in the brand library for any potential new brands that are going to be under our portfolio.

·        Support with the co-ordination GWP and samples for campaigns.

·        Collate sale and promo lists, shared by brands/suppliers and ensure all are in the same format; review and check for errors.

·        Perform basic Reporting on Sales vs Targets on key exposures and brand launches.

·        Weekly Brand Communication with Key Groups, on sales performance/up and coming activities.

·        To assist the Buyer in researching and selecting the best quality merchandise to offer at the best price to maximize sales and profit margins

About You

• You will be educated to at least high school level followed by qualification in Retailing or Retail Management/ Purchase/ Sales or related programs
• You will have good knowledge and experience in the (related) industry through work experience with international principals.
• You will have buying experience and expertise typically gained over a period of at least 1-5 years
• You will have the following skill sets –

• Beauty industry and brand knowledge
• Competent in Excel and other Microsoft Office Tools
• Communication skills, Inter personal skills
