Key responsibilities

• Conflict resolution: Act as a liaison between management and employees to address and resolve workplace issues, grievances, and demands.
• Legal compliance: Ensure all employee relations practices adhere to local and national employment laws.
• Disciplinary processes: Oversee and manage disciplinary actions and grievance procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
• Policy development and implementation: Help create and implement company policies related to employee conduct and workplace standards.
• Advising management: Serve as an internal consultant to help managers make legally sound and employee-friendly decisions.
• Employee engagement: Develop and implement initiatives to improve employee morale and engagement.
• Documentation: Maintain employee files and records, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with legal requirements.

Required skills and qualifications

• Education: Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field, though extensive experience can sometimes substitute.
• Knowledge: Must have a strong understanding of employment law and labor regulations.
• Interpersonal skills: Requires excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Problem-solving: Needs strong problem-solving abilities to handle complex and sensitive situations.
• Organizational skills: Requires exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to manage documentation and processes effectively.
